Following another transfer, this production was the third time I had designed Hair. I had to reformat the show so that rather than working for the Vaults theatre, in a thrust configuration in a small tunnel- it worked for large proscenium arch theatres, varying in size across the UK. This being my first UK tour I had to consider how the set was going to pack down and be transported, be sturdy enough to last 6 months of touring, be simple enough to install so that it could be up and have a full technical rehearsal in a day.
