Beam me Upperthorpe was a community project in partnership between Migration Matters festival and Tales From the Playground. During the Easter Holidays we delivered a series of workshops for children between 5 and 12 around the central theme of space and aliens. These workshops included alien dance, space music, build your own alien, painting planets, news reporting etc. From these workshops we collated the content that was created by the children and used it as our starting point in an R&D week of the show.

With a cast of 3 professional, and over 20 community cast members- we devised an immersive show that took place across the Upperthorpe area. Complete with an alien abduction, a giant cube spaceship, transmitting signals into space and infiltrating the FBI the audience were vital in saving their local community from some very evil forces!
